At North London Windows, we manufacture, supply or install tint-and-turn windows. These products offer an excellent aesthetic with full end-user functionality, opening fully like a traditional casement window, or partially to provide ventilation across room space. This is a style common in Europe, and is a safer alternative to casement or sash windows if you have a property with young children present.
Areas covered by North London Windows include:
Barnet | Enfield | Epping | Islington | St Albans | Tottenham | Watford | East London | North London | All Surrounding Areas
Tilt-and-turn windows can be ordered, supplied or fitted in a choice of aluminium, timber or UPVC frame. The concept for the design first originated in Germany but has Scandinavian influences. Because these windows are designed to tilt on the horizontal and vertical axis, an installation will allow you to open from the top, with a tilt at an inwards angle, or from the side so it functions exactly like a door.
When fully opened or closed, a tilt-and-turn window offers a clearer view of the world outside. The mechanism unlocks by pulling a handle downwards. Position the handle upwards, and the window tilts to open from the top. It will lock into place once it has moved a few inches whereas a horizontal position will open up as a side-hung mechanism.
This causes tilt-and-turn windows to open inwards.
Angles and function will vary based on the product and hardware used so, if you want to refresh a room with cool air without having to be vigilant of children or pets, the tilt-and-turn design is the ideal choice for family homes. While more expensive than casement windows, tilt-and-turn windows are a more versatile option for your property.
Because they are fitted with high-security hardware and locks, tilt-and-turn windows allow you to ventilate the home without having to worry about intrusion. Multipoint locking systems stop windows from being opened outside of the property. Prices will vary based on the choice of frame, and on whether you choose to have double or triple glazing fitted. Inwards opening is the most common configuration.
Outward-opening windows are available but tend to be more uncommon.
As more and more customers in Barnet, Enfield, Epping, Islington, St Albans, Tottenham, Watford and the surrounding East London and North London areas move towards tilt-and-turn windows in greater numbers, so it is that North London Windows will diversify its product range.
We specialise in bespoke, one-of-a-kind installations.
You can also use us for the installation of glazed blinds and, for a loft conversion, North London Windows can supply and fit skylights.
